Hello

A long-term member of my gaming group having to return to his country of origin has got me to try to get organised about starting running games online (in live video, not text). I've heard of people using both skype and google hangouts to do this. Does anyone have any particular advice, comments, opinions on which is better, suggestions etc?

Also, if I do manage to get my proverbials into gear, is there anyone who would be interested in a game of Demon Hunters, Tunnels and Trolls or Cartoon Action Hour?

So, very late to this party, but I suggest looking into Roll20. It is an online platform specifically for roll playing long distance. It has it's own built in chat and video conferencing as well as a DM controlled screen share for display of maps and the ability for players to move their own tokens when their turn arrives. It also features digital dice rolling and the ability to create macros for particular rolling scenarios (i.e. initiative, to hit, damage, etc.).
I use it for our family game every other week. Most of the players are in the room with us buy my son and his wife join us from Colorado. It has been an excellent too.
